Mission and Vision
Mission
We aim to foster medical education and improve health care for the 85 million people living in Vietnam by:
- Supporting a bilateral exchange of medical students and health professionals between Australia and Vietnam;
- Assisting to develop an understanding of the methods of teaching doctors and nurses in Vietnam by the 'Train the Trainer' program;
- Facilitating the development of knowledge of the Vietnamese doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers to improve health care delivery to their people;
- Developing a strong network of Australian medical, nursing and allied health staff who will provide on-going assistance and training of Vietnamese colleagues;
- Providing practical assistance with preventative, diagnostic and management problems in hospitals in Vietnam;
- Increasing medical research skills in Vietnam with the aim of using research to improve care
What we do
- We facilitate education and 'Train-the-Trainer' programs in Vietnamese hospitals and universities
- We provide long distance education to Vietnamese doctors with our telemedicine program
- We facilitate delegations travelling to Vietnam to teach clinical skills and knowledge within various specialities in a number of hospitals in Vietnam
We offer scholarships and fellowships to:
- young health professionals from Vietnam to come to Australia for advanced training
- medical and nursing students from Sydney University to learn in Vietnam
- bring Vietnamese medical students to Australia to broaden their hospital experience
- students in the Masters of International Public Health from the University of Sydney to complete their project in Vietnam
- support medical research training
